Five sleeper picks for the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship
#1 Charley Hoffman
Hoffman’s last appearance at the Sanderson Farms Championship was last year but he failed to make the cutline. However, the golfer had a few top-10 finishes to claim his crown this year. He sealed a T8 at the Barracuda Championship, a T4 at the Corales Puntacana Championship, and a second-place finish at the WM Phoenix Open.
#2 Jhonattan Vegas
Jhonattan Vegas had his last triumph in July at the 3M Open with 17-under 267. Following that, the golfer participated in three PGA Tour events, out of which his best finish was at the Procore Championship. He settled with a T32 with 7-under 281 at the Silverado Resort.
The dark horse may be a surprise this week, given that he sealed a T4 at the same tournament nine years back with a score of 16-under 274. His last participation in the event was in 2018 when he missed the cutline.
#3 Mac Meissner
Meissner’s fortune didn't favor him at the Procore Championship but he had a few good finishes on the PGA Tour in 2024. He had seven top-20 finishes, including a T12 at the Wyndham Championship with 11-under 269.
Meissner also clinched T15 and T20 at the ISCO Championship and John Deere Classic. His best finishes of 2024 were at the Barracuda Championship and the Charles Schwab Challenge at T4 and T5, respectively.
#4 Chandler Phillips
Chandler Phillips is ready for the Sanderson Farms Championship tournament after securing a T13 at the Procore Championship. The golfer is in good form, as he shot 70, 70, 69, and 70 over the four rounds at Silverado Resort. Phillips may reignite this energy this week.
Besides the Procore Championship result, he had other top twenty finishes on the PGA Tour. Phillips clinched T10 at the RBC Canadian Open, T12 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, and T3 at the Valspar Championship.
#5 Brandon Wu
The golfer tied for a T13 at the Procore Championship and he missed three cutlines before that. His best-place finish was at the ISCO Championship, where he settled for T9.
