The LPGA Tour is set to return to action with the inaugural FM Championship this week. Between 29th August and 1st September, fans will witness 144 golfers compete to win the tournament at the TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts.

The FM Championship 2024 will witness some of the best golfers on the LPGA Tour. However, five notable names stand out ahead of the competition and are the one to watch out for.

In this article, we will look at these five golfers who are a must-watch at the 2024 FM Championship:

#5. Alexa Pano is a player to watch at the FM Championship

Among all the young players at the FM Championship, Alexa Pano is a name many expect to stand out. Since making her LPGA Tour debut in 2023, Pano has displayed some impeccable performances and won her first tournament on the tour aged 19, the 2023 ISPS Handa World Invitational.

While Pano is yet to win a tournament since this victory in 2023, this season she has delivered some good performances. The closest she came to victory was when she finished second at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions.

#4. Hannah Green

Australian professional Hannah Green is another name who could win the 2024 LPGA FM Championship. Since turning professional in 2016, Green registered 12 wins in her professional career, and six of those victories have come on the LPGA Tour.

In 2024 as well, Green has shown decent form. Until now, Green won two events on the LPGA Tour. She won the HSBC Women's World Championship in February, followed by a victory at the JM Eagle LA Championship in April. These performances make Green a favorite to win the FM Championship.

#3. Lauren Coughlin

31-year-old Lauren Coughlin is having the time of her life on the LPGA Tour. While Coughlin has been part of the tour since 2018, she registered her first win on the tour this year. Coughlin's score of 68-70-66-71 helped her win the CPKC Women's Open this year.

While opening her account on the LPGA Tour was indeed a big moment for Coughlin, she experienced more success when she won the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open, which was held this month. This form puts Coughlin in pole position to potentially win the FM Championship.

#2. Xiyu Lin

In the 2024 season, Xiyu Lin is yet to register a win on the LPGA Tour. While she came close with top 10 finishes on a few occasions, she wasn't able to cross the finishing line. But, this month Lin did manage to win something most athletes in individual sports aspire to win. And that is an Olympic medal.

At the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France, Lin was successful in winning the bronze medal in the women's golf event. While she finished T55 at the AIG Women's Open after the Olympics, Lin has what it takes to win her first event on the LPGA Tour when she steps on to play at the TPC Boston.

#1. Celine Boutier

While Celine Boutier has not won a single event on the LPGA Tour this year, what makes her a player to watch is that she is a veteran on the tour. Since joining the LPGA Tour, Boutier has registered six professional wins on it. Apart from that, she also has 5 wins on the Ladies European Tour and 14 professional wins in total.

This experience that Boutier has of playing on different tours and golf courses against some of the biggest names will be vital at the TPC Boston. Boutier's time spent playing golf along with her popularity make her a player to watch at the FM Championship.
