The 2024 US Senior Open is underway at the Newport Country Club in Rhode Island from June 27 to 30. Frank Bensel Jr. sits tied for 137th place with a total score of six over par.

The PGA Tour Champions star started the day with two pars and one bogey before going on to make history. Frank Bensel Jr. impressed the golf world by carding in two back-to-back hole-in-ones on the Newport Country Club's fourth and fifth holes. He led the 2024 US Senior Open in the number of eagles/hole-in ones made.

The official X handle of the United States Golf Association (USGA) highlighted Bensel Jr.'s feat and wrote,

"TRULY HISTORIC ‼️ Frank Bensel Jr. just made back-to-back aces in Round 2 of the U.S. Senior Open."

As the 56-year-old carded in aces on the 184-yard and 203-yard par threes, fans worldwide reacted to the milestone and appreciated it, with one fan claiming,

"A record that will never be broken," they wrote.
" That’s beyond incredible," another wrote.
" I think this declares him the POTUS [President Of The United States]," a fan claimed, referring to the recent debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

Frank Bensel Jr. is currently tied for 137th place at the 2024 US Senior Open being played at the Newport Country Club this week. As he created history with two back-to-back aces, he is three over par through 14 holes of the second round.

Following his consecutive hole-in-ones, the 56-year-old went on to make four straight bogeys from holes six to nine. Frank Bensel Jr. seemed to get back in shape on the back nine with two pars but went on to card in two more bogeys.

Frank Bensel Jr has an average driving distance of 264.80 yards with his longest being a whopping 304 yards. Having hit 17 out of 25 fairways off the tee, he has a driving accuracy of 68 percent.

With 20 out of 32 greens hit with his regulation shot, Bensel Jr. has a greens-in-regulation percentage of 62.50 and averages 1.85 putts per regulation hit. He leads the field in the most number of eagles/hole-in ones made. However, the PGA Tour Champions player has only carded in one birdie so far, ranking him tied for 126th in the field.
