Jordan Spieth won his maiden Major at the Masters in 2015 at 21. He was incredible with his game and registered an easy four-shot win over Phil Mickelson and Justin Rose. He became the second-youngest golfer to win the Masters after Tiger Woods.
Following the historic Major win in 2015, Spieth reflected on his performance and shared his emotions about winning the tournament. He called it the greatest week of his life (via ESPN):
"This was arguably the greatest day of my life. To join Masters history and put my name on that trophy and to have this jacket forever, it's something that I can't fathom right now."
Spieth closed the final round of the Masters with a round of 70. He settled for an overall score of 18-under.
"I thought today might be easier having played with the lead on Saturday. It wasn't. It's the most incredible week of my life. This is as great as it gets in our sport. ... I'm still kind of [in] shock a little bit," Jordan Spieth added.
2015 was an incredible year for Jordan Spieth as he won two Majors that year. After clinching the green jacket at Augusta National, he went on to win the US Open later that year. At the Major, he registered a one-stroke victory over Dustin Johnson and Louis Oosthuizen. Aside from two Majors, he won three PGA Tour events in 2015. He clinched the trophy at the Valspar Championship and then won the John Deere Classic and Tour Championship.
A look into Jordan Spieth's performance at the Masters 2015
Spieth started his campaign at the Masters 2015 with a solid round of 8-under 64. He made four birdies on the front nine, then five birdies and one bogey on the back nine of the first round.
Spieth had a good start at the Major and maintained the momentum even in the second round, playing a round of 6-under 66 for a bogey-free round. He carded a birdie on the second hole, then made another birdie on the fifth and eighth, and added three more birdies on the back nine.
However, the American player had some rough times after two amazing rounds. He made three birdies and two bogeys on the front nine for the third round and four birdies, a bogey, and a double bogey on the back nine for a round of 2-under 70. In the final round, he made six birdies and four bogeys for another round of 2-under 70 and registered the win.
Jordan Spieth has won three Majors in his career. Aside from the 2015 Masters and the US Open, he also won The Open Championship in 2017.
