Brooke Henderson’s Coach

The 26-year-old, two-time major champion Brooke Henderson was born on September 10, 1996. She is the Canadian golfer with the most professional tour victories, with 20 in total, 13 of them on the LPGA Tour.

She went professional in 2014, and in 2015, she won her first LPGA Tour event at the Cambia Portland Classic. With a score of 267, under 21, she defeated Jang Ha-na, Candie Kung, and Pornanong Phatlum by eight shots.

Henderson won the Women's PGA Championship in 2016 at the age of 18, making history as the youngest major winner. Six years later, in 2022, she won her second major title at the Evian Championship, the same year the Ottawa Key to the City was awarded to her.

Meanwhile, in 2019, she received the Founders Award and the People's Choice Award from the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame. She also won the Bobbie Rosenfeld Award, also known as the Canadian Press Female Athlete of the Year, in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

She defeated Charley Hull and Maja Stark by four strokes with a total of 272, under 16, to win her 13th LPGA Tour event at the 2023 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. At the 2023 Evian Championship, she lost to Celine Boutier, who won by 270, under 14, by a mere six strokes, and therefore missed her third major championship.

Brooke Henderson’s coach is her father, Dave Henderson.

Henderson’s father, Dave, taught for the Upper Canada District School Board for 31 years. He worked for 16 of those years at Caldwell Street Public School in Carleton Place and the remaining 15 at Lombardy Public School. He has been Henderson’s coach since her amateur days.

Henderson thought that her game was on the rise in the middle of one of her busiest seasons in 2023. She said that the teamwork between her and Dave is extremely important for her success, as Dave has been her coach for a very long time, and knows much about her game. She further added that they have been trying to improve her game by working on various aspects.

Henderson stated that her father's priority is to ensure her game is strong both mentally and physically, and the two have been actively developing a good strategy for working together.

Henderson and her father aren't focusing on the idea of a wholesale swing. The main element of success, according to her, is patience. She also stated that although she hasn't gotten the finishes she had hoped for, it's not the end of the world.
