American professional golfer Brooks Koepka was born on May 3, 1990, and is currently a member of the LIV Golf League. He used to be on the PGA Tour. Following his victory in the 2018 CJ Cup, Koepka rose to the top of the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) in October 2018 and held that position for 47 weeks.

As the first golfer in history to win back-to-back major championships at the same time, he made history in 2017 and 2018 by winning the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship in 2018 and 2019.

After winning the PGA Championship a third time in 2023, Koepka now has five major victories in six years. Koepka is currently ranked 17th in the OWGR.

Brooks Koepka’s Majors Championships

Brookes Koepka has won five major championships; the US Open (2017, 2018) and the PGA Championships (2018, 2019, 2023).

At the 2017 U.S. Open in Erin Hills, Wisconsin, Koepka earned his first-ever major tournament title. Koepka became the first golfer to win two consecutive U.S. Opens since Curtis Strange in 1988 and 1989 with his successful defense at Shinnecock Hills on Long Island in 2018.

At the 2018 PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club, he shot a major championship record-tying 264 over 72 holes to win the third major.

Since Tiger Woods in 2000, Koepka's victory in the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship in 2018 were the first of their kind. At Bethpage Black during the 2019 PGA Championship, Koepka secured his fourth major victory. His fifth major victory came at Oak Hill Country Club during the 2023 PGA Championship.

The following are the specifics of Koepka's major wins:

  • Koepka won the U.S. Open on June 17, 2018, by a slim 1-stroke margin with a winning score of +1 (75-66-72-68=281). Tommy Fleetwood of England finished in second place.

When did Brooks Koepka turn professional?

Then, in 2013, he won his second, third, and fourth titles at the Montecchia Golf Open, the Fred Olsen Challenge de Espana, and the Scottish Hydro Challenge, in that order.

Following these victories, Koepka won his European Tour card and made his debut at the Scottish Open, where he finished T12. After winning the Turkish Airlines Open on the 2014 European Tour, he chose to retire from the European Tour in 2015.

Koepka made his PGA Tour debut in 2014, finishing 15th at the PGA Championship and earning a nomination for the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year Award. However, in February 2015, he won his first PGA Tour tournament, the Waste Management Phoenix Open, and ascended to 19th in the OWGR rankings.
