Bryson DeChambeau's caddie earns big after LIV golfer's record $4,300,000 victory at the 2024 US Open

Bryson DeChambeau emerged as the 2024 US Open champion. Having shot the same six under par 274 score at his first title in 2020, the LIV Golf star earned a considerable portion of the whopping $21.5 million purse prize after his stellar performance this week at the Pinehurst No. 2 course.

The Crushers GC captain received a $4.3 million check for his second US Open victory this week, marking a $700,000 increase from Wyndham Clark's win last year. It has been a tradition for the caddie of the winner to receive a 10 percent cut from their player's earnings, which will see Gregory Bodine, Bryson DeChambeau's caddie, take home a record $430,000.

The 2024 US Open first-place prize surpasses that of the previous Major championships this season. The 2024 Masters at Augusta National saw Scottie Scheffler taking home $3.6 million and Xander Schauffele receiving $3.3 million for his PGA Championship win.

The significant increase in prize money over the years not only stands as good news for the players, it means well for their caddies as well. Bryson DeChambeau's 2020 US Open win at Winged Foot Golf Club earned him $2,250,000. It is estimated that his caddie at the time, Tim Tucker, would have taken home $225,000.

With odds of +1800 to win as per BetMGM, Bryson DeChambeau takes home the second US Open title of his career. The Crushers GC captain took home a whopping $4.3 million in earnings. However, as a LIV Golf player, he is not eligible to take home the massive 750 FedEx Cup Points that were up for grabs.

Alongside the massive prize money, DeChambeau also earned a ten-year exemption into the US Open and a five-year exemption into the three other Major championships. Bryson DeChambeau climbed to tenth place on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) after being ranked 38th on the list last week. He has earned 100 points to move up on the OWGR.

Rory McIlroy faced a heartbreaking loss this week at Pinehurst No. 2. Having lost by one stroke, his ten-year drought without a Major title continues. For the solo second-place finish, the Irishman has earned $2,322,000 and 400 FedEx Cup Points. The finish has moved the PGA Tour star up a place on the Official World Golf Rankings to second place.
