Bryson DeChambeau defeated Rory McIlroy by a single stroke at the 2024 US Open to take the prestigious trophy home.

Bryson DeChambeau chugs wine in US Open trophy to celebrate his victory

Bryson DeChambeau is on cloud nine after his enthralling win at the Major. He is in full celebration mode after playing a suspenseful final at the Pinehurst No. 2 Golf Course. Following his victory, he went to Eric Trump's golf course in New York, where he spent an evening playing a few shots and even chugging wine from his trophy.

DeChambeau has been enjoying a fabulous season in 2024. After starting his Major outings with a fantastic T6 finish at the Masters, DeChambeau competed in last month's PGA Championship but fell short of Xander Schauffele by a single stroke, finishing runner-up.

However, he didn't let this setback get him down. He made an amazing comeback at the US Open, elevating his runner-up position from the previous Major to a victory at the recently concluded tournament.

Bryson DeChambeau continued the streak of American golfers winning Majors. He became the sixth consecutive American to win a Men's Major. This streak started with Brooks Koepka winning the 2023 PGA Championship, followed by Wyndham Clark emerging victorious at the 2023 US Open. Another American, Brian Harman, won The Open Championship in 2023.

The 2024 Majors began with World No. 1 and one of America's most talented golfers, Scottie Scheffler, winning the Masters at Augusta National, followed by Xander Schauffele winning the 2024 PGA Championship last month.

The final Major of the year is scheduled to take place next month, and it will be interesting to see if the streak continues at The Open Championship 2024.
