South Korean golfer Byeong Hun An, aka Ben An, was born on September 17, 1991. He turned professional in 2011 and has won four professional wins, including the 2015 BMW PGA Championship. During his amateur career, he won the 2009 U.S. Amateur, becoming the youngest player to win the event.

Ben relocated to Florida, United States, in 2005 to further his golf training at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy and after five years, he made his PGA Tour debut at the 2010 Arnold Palmer Invitational. He also played at the Masters Tournament but failed to make the cut.

Ben made history by becoming the first defending champion to reach the semifinals of the 2010 U.S. Amateur since Tiger Woods in 1996. His most recent win was at the 2022 LECOM Suncoast Classic on the Korn Ferry Tour. However, since then, he's been suffering a win-less drought as of May 2024.

Who is Byeong Hun An’s caddie?

Byeong Hun An’s caddie is Justin York as of May 2024.

York has previously caddied for Josh Teater, Ye Yang, Chez Reavie, KJ Choi, Phil Mickelson, and Adam Schenk over his career. He got the moniker "Birddog" from Andy Sanders and Mike Christensen in 2011. At the time, York was bragging about his ability to find balls, so he declared he was good at "birddogging balls," and the nickname stuck with him.

York was born in Phoenix, Arizona and attended Paradise Valley High School in 2000, after which he went to Arizona State University but didn't get involved in college golf. Instead, he was a junior college football player with the Glendale Gauchos, who in 2000 won a national title.

While growing up, York's favorite golfer was Justin Leonard, and his favorite golf course to caddie at is Quail Hollow, while he prefers to play at Whisper Rock, according to Caddie Network. When asked about his alternate career, he said he would choose to be a professional poker player. In 2008, he started working as a full-time caddie for Roger Tambellini on the Nationwide Tour.

York has worked as a caddie for 11 years, 3 of which he has spent on the Korn Ferry Tour and 8 on the PGA Tour. He has had two victories on the Korn Ferry Tour and one near-victory on the PGA Tour. He likes to play poker, video games, lift weights, and golf in his free time. He currently resides in Scottsdale with Cinamon, his wife.

The Caddie Network asked about his favorite restaurant on tour, and he said that he likes Bosco's, which is a pizza restaurant in Scottsdale. He visits Bosco's often with his friends and wife. On the 13th hole at TPC Scottsdale, Sung Kang's hit a cut three-wood to about eight feet from the desert, partially blocked by a bush, which was also the best shot he saw during the tour.
