Cameron Smith, an Australian professional golfer who competes in the LIV Golf League, was born on August 18, 1993. Smith won the PGA Tour's 2022 Players Championship in addition to the 2022 Open Championship and five other events.

The first team event on the PGA Tour since 1981 was won by Smith and Jonas Blixt in May 2017 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Smith finished 46th in the FedEx Cup standings and had two top-10 finishes on the 2017 PGA Tour, tying for sixth at the Valero Texas Open and seventh at the Wyndham Championship.

In late 2017, he finished third at the CJ Cup in South Korea and tied for fifth at the CIMB Classic in Malaysia to start the new PGA Tour season. The following week, Smith won the Australian PGA Championship by defeating Jordan Zunic in a playoff, continuing his strong play after placing fourth at the Emirates Australian Open.

Smith was born in Brisbane, Queensland, and raised in the northern suburb of Bray Park, where he spent his formative years attending Pine Rivers State High School.

Smith competed on the PGA Tour of Australasia after turning pro in 2013. At the 2016 Emirates Australian Open and the 2015 Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship, he tied for second place. Smith successfully defended his title at the Australian PGA Championship in December 2018, defeating Marc Leishman by two strokes.

Smith participated in the 2019 Presidents Cup at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia in December as a member of the International team. Team USA triumphed 16–14. Smith had a record of 1-1-1, with a victory over Justin Thomas in his Sunday singles match.

Smith's first individual victory on the PGA Tour came in January 2020, when he defeated Brendan Steele in a playoff to win the Sony Open in Hawaii. Smith became the first golfer in Masters history to shoot four rounds in the 60s when he tied for second place with Dustin Johnson at the 2020 Masters in November.

Smith won his first major title at the Open Championship, held at the Old Course at St. Andrews, in July 2022. It was revealed that Smith had joined LIV Golf at the end of August 2022, following the Tour Championship.
