The five-time champion on the PGA Tour, Camilo Villegas, has made his fabulous comeback on the field. Villegas has recently won his fifth PGA Tour title, the 2023 Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Villegas has been playing in the PGA Tour since 2004 and began to come into the spotlight by winning several Junior Championships in Columbia. At just 16, Villegas set a record of becoming the first Colombian player to win the Amateurs Grand Slam in history

Later, Villegas accepted a scholarship in the United States in 2001 to play at the University of Florida. With his exceptional golf skills, he was named an All-American for four consecutive years, from 2001 to 2004. In the year 2004, he became a pro and won many tournaments in the starting phase. He won his first PGA Tour card ahead of the 2006 season; his first professional win was in 2008, where he claimed the title of MNW Championship. After three weeks, he claimed another victory in the Tour Championship. After 2008, Villegas won his third title after two years in the Honda Classic, and again in 2014, the Wyndham Championship was his fourth PGA Tour victory.

After winning several tournaments, Villegas has been populated with his nickname 'Spiderman' because of his unique techniques on the field. However, Camilo Villegas has not won any majors in his career journey as of April 2024. His best finish in the major was in 2008 when he reached T4 in the PGA Championship.

Camilo Villegas Caddie

Luis Ruiz is the present caddie for Camilo Villegas. They both met on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2003. Villegas got invited to Bermuda, the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, where Villegas invited Ruiz to be his caddie.

Ruiz was born in 1986 in Mexico City. He was a keen golf lover and played at the junior level and on the US Collegiate Circuits. Because of his great performance, he earned a scholarship to Coastal Carolina University, where he graduated with a finance degree. Ruiz tried to accomplish his golf career as a player but could not succeed. This made him end up as a caddy. He has been caddying for many different players before caddying for Camilo Villegas.

Before Luis Ruiz, in the Korn Ferry Tour, Manuel Villegas, brother of Camilo Villegas, had been caddying Villegas in his tournaments. His only motto for the player, Camilo Villegas, was to have some fun on the field.
