Again this year, McIlroy is one of the favorites to win the Masters. But like every other year, the question remains, will the Northern Irishman achieve a career Grand Slam this time?
Rory's last win in major tournaments was in 2014 when he claimed the PGA Championship that year. It's not as if he has performed badly here. In his last nine starts at Augusta National, Rory has ended up in the top 10 seven times.
Last year. Rory finished in the top 8 of all four majors, including a runner-up finish at Augusta National. A runner-up finish at the 2022 Masters was his best performance at Augusta National when he scored a low 64 on the final day with a birdie on the last hole.
The 2022 Masters started a brilliant run of form for the 33-year-old when he went on to win the Wells Fargo Championship the following month. He then went on to defend his RBC Canadian Open title and claimed the FedExCup for a historic third time.
Rory went on to return to the No. 1 position in the Official World Golf Rankings after winning the CJ Cup. a runner-up finish at the PGA Championship.
How is Rory McIlroy's current form?
McIlroy continued this year from where he left off in 2022. He started the season with a win at the DP World Tour's Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
However, after Dubai's win, he had a disappointing run at the WM Phoenix Open, followed by the Genesis Invitational a week later. He later admitted that he was struggling with the driver.
The former World No. 1 switched putters after failing to make a cut at The Players. The putter change seemed to work for him as he lost just one match at the WGC-Dell Technologies Matchplay and defeated World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler to finish third.
