"Can't be taken lightly"- Collin Morikawa feels the pressure to represent USA in golf at the Paris Olympics

Collin Morikawa is set to make his second appearance at the Summer Olympic Games this week in Paris. The American will take on the Le Golf National course, which is located on the outskirts of Paris, from August 1 to 4.

The 27-year-old finished tied for fourth place at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 and was just three strokes shy of taking home a gold medal. Morikawa is eager to finish at the top of the podium to win USA yet another gold medal.

Proudly wearing USA's red, white, and blue colors, Morikawa is set to dominate the field following intense preparations. Here's what the two-time Major championship winner had to tell the PGA Tour about the honor that comes with playing at the 2024 Paris Olympics:

" It's one of the biggest honors you can ever have and that can't be taken lightly. When you are representing your country, it's the biggest thing you can have. "

Collin Morikawa will tee off the first round of the Olympics at 12:06 PM local time on Friday, August 1. The 2021 Open Championship winner will play with France's Matthieu Pavon and Great Britain's Matt Fitzpatrick.

The same pairings will be followed for the second round. The group will tee it up at 10:11 am local time on Saturday, August 2.
