Tiger Woods first started playing golf at the age of two. Introduced to golf by his father, Tiger Woods has continued the family tradition by guiding his son, Charlie Woods, to success.

The 15-year-old Charlie Woods is set to tee it up at the 75th edition of the Press Thornton Future Masters this week from June 22 to 29. Along with the children of several other golf stars, he will compete in the 15–18 age group.

Legends of the PGA Tour Trevor Immelman, Ben Curtis, and Hank Kuehne will also be watching their sons compete at Dothan Country Club this week. Jacob Immelman, Liam Curtis, and Henrey Kuehne will be joining Charlie Woods to form an incredible four-ball pairing.

Here's what the Press Thornton Future Masters' tournament coordinator, Angela Wade Turner, had to say to the Dothan Eagle regarding the pairing of the four incredible amateurs.

" We felt like the four PGA players’ sons would be more comfortable in them all being paired together. ... Also, if someone who has not played here before is paired with a PGA player’s son may just feel the pressure. So, we felt like we did have those four and they do play together at other tournaments, we felt like that was probably good to put those four all together."

Charlie Woods qualifies for the first USGA event of his career

Charlie Woods leads the field of the 2024 US Junior Amateur Championship, which is set to be played at Oakland Hills in Michigan from July 22 to 27. He followed in his father's (Tiger Woods') footsteps as he emerged victorious at the qualifier with a one-under-par 71 score to qualify for the 76th edition of the United States Golf Association (USGA)-led tournament.

Despite starting off the qualifier with a double bogey on Eagle Trace Golf Club's first hole, Charlie Woods bounced back. Here's what the 15-year-old had to say to the PGA Tour regarding the milestone.

" “I didn’t play great my first two holes. But I played really good for the last 16. I just told myself not to make any more bogeys or doubles and I took advantage of some nice birdie looks when I had them. The USGA means a lot to me. I want to win USGA championships and hopefully one day the U.S. Open.”

Under the guidance of his father, Charlie Woods seems to be heading down a great path in his golf career. Tiger Woods was just 14 years old when he first qualified for the first USGA event of his career. He went on to win the US Junior Amateur Championship three consecutive times.
