Chris Kirk, a prominent PGA Tour professional, made headlines by ending a seven-year dry spell with a victory at the 2023 Honda Classic. Despite not securing a win for quite some time, he maintained a strong performance, earning an average of $1.5 million each year. This recent triumph is expected to boost his confidence significantly and propel him towards reaching his full potential on the tour. Besides his abilities, another important factor in his success is his caddie. The role of Kirk's caddie could be crucial in assisting him in achieving his goals on the tour.

Who is the caddie for Chris Kirk?

Chris Kirk's caddy is Michael Cromie, a Georgia Golf alumnus. Like most PGA Tour caddies, Cromie has a strong competitive golf background. Cromie's love for the game developed long after he was introduced.

For Michael it seems golf runs in the family, Michael was introduced to the game by his father at a very young age. Though, he didn't quite seem to enjoy it. Rather he decided to try out other sports such as football etc, he ended up playing four different sports for most of his life. But around the age of 11, his father asked him to choose two sports, which he was most passionate about and would like to pursue in the future!

That's when young Michael Cromie decided to choose golf and soccer. It was then that his love for the game grew and he completely took over the sport. This newfound passion led to a strong work ethic that earned him a scholarship to the Georgia Bulldogs golf team. Cromie had a stellar career there, finishing in the top ten in four of five starts his senior year.

While Chris Kirk has typically followed a regular caddie rotation to keep things fresh, his partnership with Michael Cromie has been more enduring than his usual three to four-week stretches. The exact start date of their partnership is not known precisely, but it seems like Michael Cromie began caddying for Chris Kirk around June 2020.
