The 2024 LIV Golf Invitational is underway at the Real Club Valderrama in Andalucia, Spain. Dean Burmester sits tied for sixth place with a score of one under par through 36 holes.
Burmester made his debut in the LIV Golf League in 2023. The 35-year-old is a part of Louis Oosthuizen's Stinger GC team comprised of players of South African origin. With one round of the tournament left to play, the team sits in solo third place and five strokes behind the leaders, Crushers GC.
During the Spain event this week, Dean Burmester revealed the main reason he looks forward to podium finishes. The former PGA Tour play told the press:

A look into Dean Burmester's 2024 LIV Golf season
Dean Burmester was ranked 14th on the individual leaderboard with 89 points during his debut year in the league. So far into the 2024 season in the LIV Golf League, the South African has played in nine events.
While Stinger GC ranks sixth among thirteen teams, Burmester ranks fourth as an individual with 93.74 points earned. He had a fantastic start to the season with a top-three finish at the season-opening event in Mayakoba where he picked up 21 points.
However, his worst finish yet during this season followed right after Mayakoba. The LIV Golf Invitational in Las Vegas saw Burmester earn zero points for a 39th-place finish.
The LIV Golf Invitational in Miami saw Dean Burmester earn his maiden title in the Saudi-based league. The victory saw him take home a massive cheque worth $4 million along with 40 points.
