“Dear oh dear”: Jon Rahm misses a tap-in putt at the LIV golf UK event

Jon Rahm was tied for first place at the 2024 LIV Golf Invitational with his best friend Tyrrell Hatton. The Spaniard posted rounds of 63, 70, and 67 to total eight under par to take home his maiden title on the Saudi-backed league.

On the JCB Golf and Country Club's 17th hole, Rahm missed a putt from less than a foot away to card in a bogey on the par three hole. The missed putt caused the Legion XIII captain to lose his solo lead to tie with his teammate Tyrrell Hatton. The one stroke drop evoked a dissapointed reaction from the broadcasters. One of the commentators said:

"Dear oh dear"

Hatton needed to make par on the final hole to force a playoff between him and his fellow Ryder Cup teammate. However, he succumbed to the pressure to card in a bogey, handing Rahm his maiden victory on the LIV Golf league.

The Legion XIII team are sure to be in great spirits after having two of their players finish in the top five, as well as take home the team title at the 2024 LIV Golf Invitational in the United Kingdom.
