The AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open will be the final event on the DP World Tour for the calendar year 2024. The event corresponds to the first African leg of the tour's 2025 season and will be played between December 19-22 at Mont Choisy Le Golf.

The tournament was established in 2015 and has been co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour (formerly the European Tour) and the Sunshine Tour since its inception. In its early days, it was also co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour.

Mauritius Open Odds at a Glance

Defending champion Louis Oosthuizen will not be in attendance to defend his Mauritius Open title. Defending champion 2022 Antoine Rozner, who is also the highest-ranked golfer in the field (145th in the world), will be there.

The Frenchman is also the favorite to win the event, according to IMG Arena (9/1, as quoted by the DP World Tour). This will be the season opener for Rozner, who has not played since finishing in joint-third at the DP World Tour Championship in November.

Commenting on the opportunity to play the Mauritius Open again, Rozner said (via DP World Tour News Service):

"It’s a course I really like, so I’m very motivated for it and I want to play some really good golf and hopefully I can lift that trophy again. The atmosphere is really fun here. It’s a good week."

Angel Ayora is IMG Arena's second favorite to win the Mauritius Open at 16/1. The Spaniard enters the event with two top-10 finishes in his first three tournaments of the year, including a tie for fifth at the Alfred Dunhill Championship a week ago.

Another player with two top-10 finishes in his last three tournaments is England's John Parry, who tied for second at the Alfred Dunhill Championship last week. IMG Arena makes Parry 22/1 to win the Mauritius Open.

The purse for the event is €1.5 million, with a winner's share of €255,000. This is an increase of approximately €60,000 over what Louis Oosthuizen received when he won in 2023.

The tournament will be played at Mont Choisy Le Golf, whose course measures 7,051 yards and is par 72. The facility has a very long history that began in the 1820s when the area was first settled. However, the golf course was inaugurated in 2015 as part of the modernization of the facility and the region.

Mont Choisy Le Golf has already hosted the 2022 event. Other courses where it has been played are Heritage La Reserve and Anahita.

The aggregate record for the event (268) was set by Arjun Atwal and Dylan Fritelly in 2017, playing at Heritage. Kurt Kitayama tied the record in 2018, playing at Anahita. Kitayama himself set the record to par (20 under).
