Officially the PGA European Tour, commercially the DP World Tour is a professional men's golf tour in Europe. Established in 1972 with tournaments in Continental Europe and setting up a competitive Order of Merit schedule. But its roots lie in the mid-1860s, when the sport first emerged, and then the formation of the United Kingdom and Ireland's The Professional Golfers Association in 1901. The European Tour was founded by the former and in 1984, it became an independent entity.
The headquarters of the PGA European Tour are located at Virginia Water's Wentworth Club in Surrey, England. The main goal of this golfer-run organization is to increase tournament players' earnings. It works under the authority of the board of directors and the tournament committee, both of which consist of former and the running season's professional golfers.
Full 2025 DP World Tour Schedule
The 2025 season began late in the previous year with the BMW Australian PGA Championship in November 2024 but it is still referred to by the calendar year 2025 instead of 2024–25, which would better represent the actual playing season. More than 40 events will be played in 26 counties in the 2025 season, according to the European Tour.
As per the 2025 schedule of the European Tour, events before March take place in other countries, while after it, they take place in Europe. The former's prize money is typically more in events. The season will conclude with the season-ending playoff event, the DP World Tour Championship, in November 2025.
In the 54th season of the European Tour, the Turkish Open and Austrian Open were announced to return to the schedule for the first time since 2019 and 2021, respectively. Due to construction at Le Golf National, the FedEx Open de France, the oldest national Open in continental Europe, will be held at Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche for its 107th edition.
