Farmers Insurance Open 2025 Course Details

Since the late 1960s, Torrey Pines has hosted the Farmers Insurance Open, formerly known as the San Diego Open, on the PGA Tour. It is a municipal golf course on the West Coast of the United States, owned by the city of San Diego, California. The first and second rounds of the Farmers Insurance Open will take place on both the North and the South courses; however, the third and fourth rounds of the event will take place only on the South Course.

William Francis Bell designed the two 18-hole golf courses at Torrey Pines, North and South. Redesigned by Rees Jones in 2001, the South Course has a par of 72 and is 7,802 yards (7,134 meters) from the back tees. In 2016, Tom Weiskopf redesigned the North Course, moving the nines around to take in the breathtaking views of the ocean at the finish of the round.

The following are the details of the holes for both the North and South courses:

Farmers Insurance Open Tournament Purse History

The Farmers Insurance Open was originally founded in 1952; then the event's purse was $10,000, with the winner's share of $2000. In 1955, the purse was increased to $15,000, and in 1959, to $20,000. Until 1966, it steadily increased by the thousands, but it skyrocketed in 1967 with a purse of $71,000 and a winner's share of $13,200. The next season, sponsorship changed, and the prize money doubled to $150,000, with $30,000 going to the winner. The prior purse stayed consistent for five seasons before gradually increasing.

The purse for the tournament reached $500,000 in 1987, with a $90,000 winner's share, and $1 million three seasons later in 1991, with a $180,000 winner's share. Moving on, the purse continuously increased, either by $300,000 or $1 million, as sponsorship changes occurred. In 2024, the purse reached $9 million, and in 2025, the purse is $9.3 million, with the winner receiving $1.67 million.
