The Farmers Insurance Open is a PGA Tour professional golf tournament held in San Diego, California, generally during the West Coast Swing. It began in 1952 as the San Diego Open but has seen several sponsorship changes since then.
Isuzu and Wickes became sponsors in 1981 for three and two years respectively, followed by Shearson Lehman Brothers as sponsors in 1986. Buick took over sponsorship in 1992, and finally, Farmers Insurance took over in 2010. The Farmers Insurance Open 2024 will take place from January 24th to 27th and will be managed by the Century Club of San Diego.
Since 1968, the tournament has been hosted at the City of San Diego's 36-hole Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla. The tournament's first 36 holes are currently split between the North and South Courses, with the South Course hosting the final 36 holes. The South Course has hosted two U.S. Opens in 2008 and 2021.
The 2023 Farmers Insurance Open winner was Max Homa. Homa defeated Sam Ryder, Keegan Bradley, and a few other players in the last round. He received the $1,566,000 winner's share of the $8,700,000 purse.

Farmers Insurance Open 2024 Leaderboard
Matthieu Pavon won the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open, marking his first career PGA Tour victory at the South Course of Torrey Pines Golf Courses, located close to San Diego, California. Of the $9,000,000 purse, he took home the $1,620,000 winner's share.
Making an 8-foot birdie putt on the last hole to win the tournament by one shot at 13-under 259, Pavon won by a single shot. He defeated Nicolai Hojgaard, who, after Pavon made the winning putt, birdied the last hole to take second place.
Stephan Jaeger, who had led the 54-hole round, lost his chance to win after he mishandled his tee shot on the 71st hole. Nate Lashley, Jake Knapp, and Jaeger tied for third place.

Farmers Insurance Open 2024 Course Details
Since the late 1960s, Torrey Pines has hosted the Farmers Insurance Open, formerly known as the San Diego Open, on the PGA Tour. In those early Torrey Pines events, the starting positions were separated by less than 6,850 yards (6,265 meters). The event is usually conducted in January or February. While both courses are used for the first two rounds, the South Course is used for the last two.
The 36-hole Torrey Pines Golf Course is a municipal golf course on the West Coast of the United States, owned by the city of San Diego, California. It is situated on the seashore cliffs with a view of the Pacific Ocean in the La Jolla area, just south of Torrey Pines State Reserve. During World War II, it was built on the site of Camp Callan, an American Army station.
William Francis Bell designed the two 18-hole golf courses at Torrey Pines, North and South. Redesigned by Rees Jones in 2001, the South Course has a par of 72 and is 7,802 yards (7,134 meters) from the back tees. In 2016, Tom Weiskopf redesigned the North Course, moving the nines around to take in the breathtaking views of the ocean at the finish of the round.
