The PGA Tour is an organization that handles and runs the majority of the annual golf events in North America and the U.S.A. In December 1968, it broke away from the Professional Golfers' Association of America (PGA of America) to become a distinct organization catering to tour players instead of club professionals.
The organization changed its name to "PGA Tour" in 1975 from "Tournament Players Division." The Tour also manages the PGA Tour Champions, the PGA Tour Canada, the PGA Tour Latinoamérica, and the former PGA Tour China.

Tiger Woods equaled Sam Snead for the all-time PGA Tour wins record with his victory in the 2019 Zozo Championship in Japan, having won 82 official tournaments. Although Woods has won in 82 PGA Tour-sanctioned events, he has undoubtedly won many more in his career as an amateur and a professional.
Sam Snead has 82 victories that the PGA Tour recognizes. However, Snead's career developed before the existence of the current PGA Tour. There are certain victories in Snead's career that the PGA Tour has acknowledged as official. However, the record has reportedly always been a little questionable.
Golfers with the Most PGA Tour Wins
Notable golfers Ben Hogan (64) and Arnold Palmer (62) complete the all-time top five, with Jack Nicklaus ranking third with 73 wins. 18 players have won 30 or more times during their careers on the PGA Tour.
