Harris English, known as a professional golfer, was born in Valdosta, Georgia, on July 23, 1989. As an amateur, he competed in two 2011 Nationwide Tour events: the Stadion Athens Classic at UGA in May and the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational, which he won in July. After Russell Henley in 2011 and Daniel Summerhays in 2007, he was just the third amateur to win on the tour.

In 2011, he became a professional and began competing on the Nationwide Tour. It was at the Soboba Golf Classic that he made his professional debut. In the PGA Tour qualifying tournament, he tied for 13th place and won his 2012 PGA Tour card.

English made 22 cuts in 27 events and finished in the top three during his rookie season, which was good enough to maintain his PGA card. In the 2013 FedEx St. Jude Classic, he defeated Phil Mickelson and Scott Stallings to win his first professional victory. He won by two strokes, with a total of 268, under 12.

In June 2021, Harris won the Travelers Championship by making a birdie on the eighth playoff hole against Kramer Hickok. It was the second-longest playoff in PGA Tour history and his eighth overall professional win.

At the Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2023, he tied for second place with Rory McIlroy with a score of 280, under 8, losing to Kurt Kitayama by one stroke. He tied for eighth place with Joohyung Kim at the 2023 U.S. Open with a score of 276 under 4.

As of April 2024, he has played in nine events, missing the cut in only the Valero Texas Open. His best finish was at the Genesis Invitational, where he finished solo seventh for a score of 272, under 12.

Harris English's Caddie

Harris English's caddie is Eric Larson as of April 2024.

Eric Larson has an interesting life story; his dream was to be a successful professional golfer, but when he realized his skills were not good enough to compete at a professional level, he decided to be a caddie. He began his caddying journey with Ken Green in 1991 and later he caddied for Mark Calcavecchia. In order to improve his financial situation, he got involved in selling drugs across borders, but was caught and sentenced to 13 years in federal prison, one of his life’s terrible episodes.

Eric handled the situation well. He earned a college degree and worked out to stay fit. He met Tommy Chong from the famous comedy duo Cheech and Chong in prison, whom he eventually befriended.

After being released from jail in 2004, he continued his caddying journey and returned to work with Mark Calcavecchia. Before his partnership with Harris, Eric had caddied for other players, including Anthony Kim and Jeff Overton. Eric started caddying for Harris in 2017 and they have won numerous tournaments on the PGA Tour, including the 2021 Travelers Championship.
