Hideki Matsuyama won The Sentry 2025 with a record score of 35 under. It was his 11th PGA Tour victory, but it also allowed him to join an exclusive group of players who have won the so-called Hawaii Double.

The term has been around since 1999, the year The Sentry moved to Kapalua Resort, joining the Sony Open in Hawaii as the two PGA Tour events held in the Aloha State. Only seven players have won both events in their careers, with Hideki Matsuyama the most recent member of the list.

List of winners of the Hawaii Double ft. Hideki Matsuyama

Few players have both Hawaii events on their calendars, so winning them both is a merit.

All of the members of the Hawaii Double winners list are major champions. Let's see who they are:

Hideki Matsuyama kicked off 2025 by breaking The Sentry's 72-hole record for his first win of the year. In 2024, he won two major championships, the Genesis Invitational and the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Matsuyama won the 2022 Sony Open in Hawaii with a 23-under total, shooting two final rounds of 63.

#2 Justin Thomas

Justin Thomas has the added merit of winning the Hawaii Double in the same year. That happened in 2017 when he won The Sentry (then known as the SBS Tournament of Champions) and also won the Sony Open a week later.

The latter victory was record-breaking for Justin Thomas, as his total of 253 is still the Sony Open record. He repeated his win at The Sentry in 2020.

#3 Cameron Smith
