Masters 2023 has enough gossip this time. The biggest talk around this major tournament is related to the LIV vs PGA rivalry. While LIV Golf's Brooks Koepka leads the leaderboard, the PGA's Jon Rahm is following him behind on second rank.
Even before the start of Masters 2023, LIV golfer Kevin Na withdrew from the competition. He was followed by Louis Oosthuizen, who was at T74 rank in the leaderboard of Masters 2023. This left the LIV regimen left with just 16 players.
Out of 16 players left, 12 LIV golfers managed to make the cut before the suspension on day 3 due to heavy rainfall. This means that 75 percent of players managed to have a good campaign at the tournament.
On the other hand, out of 62 players participating in the Masters 2023 from the PGA Tour, only 41 players made the cut in round 3. Jon Rahm is leading the campaign for them and they have a success rate of 66 percent approx.
However, the overall conversion rate for making the cut for both sides may seem to indicate that the league might be ahead of the tour. But as the game progresses, the side with the highest number of players has a better chance of winning the race for the prestigious green jacket.
Interestingly, both sides saw some drastic results. For the PGA, Rory McIlroy and Max Homa were hot topics. As for LIV, Bubba Watson missing the cut and Cameron Smith hanging down on the leaderboard was unexpected.
