Nelly Korda joins a prestigious list after victory at The Chevron Championship

In 2022, Nelly Korda had to undergo surgery for a blood clot. While many wondered how it would affect her when she comes back, it's clear that Korda has recovered well and has been able to script history with wonderful performances this year.

Her fifth consecutive LPGA victory at the 2024 Chevron Championship put Korda on a prestigious list of legendary golfers. Apart from Korda, the golfers who achieved this feat are Bryan Nelson (11), Tiger Woods (7, 6, 5), Ben Hogan (6), Nancy Lopez (5), and Annika Sorenstam (5).

If Korda can make it six consecutive victories in the coming weeks, she will become the woman with the most consecutive victories. However, until then, it seems Korda would like to celebrate her recent win. After jumping into the lake to celebrate, Korda also spoke about how it felt to win her second Major title.

The American told the press:

“My first-ever Major, competing in a Major, was at the U.S. Women's Open at Sebonack, and that was when I dreamt of winning Major championships. To have two under my belt now is a dream come true.”

If Nelly Korda can keep up her good performances, she will indeed end up as a legendary name in the sport. It will be very interesting to follow her career and see if she can achieve this feat.
