Tiger Woods failed to make it to the weekend as he missed the cut at the 2024 US Open. He carded +7 in two rounds on a strenuous Pinehurst Golf Course No. 2 and missed the two-cut line by two strokes.
Despite missing the cut, Tiger Woods earned $10,000 this week, as all golfers who failed to make it to the weekend received this amount. The USGA chief executive, Mike Whan, had revealed this earlier, stating the challenges of getting into the field for the US Open.
"We pay you even if you miss the cut because we really believe that making the cut at the US Open is getting one of these 156 [spots]," Whan was quoted as saying by The Mirror. "Think about it. Of 10,200 [who attempt to qualify], only 156 are here."

Hence, all golfers who missed the cut, including Tiger Woods, received $10,000 for competing in the 2024 US Open. This prize money will comfort the 15-time Major Championship winner, as he hasn't received much monetary benefit this year, having missed the cut at the 2024 PGA Championship and finished 60th at the Masters.
