Xander Schauffele emerged victorious at The 2024 Open Championship last week. The PGA Tour star won his second major championship of this season by a two-stroke margin ahead of Justin Rose and Billy Horschel.

The 30-year-old not only walked away with the title of 'Champion Golfer of the Year', he also received a massive cheque worth $3.1 million and 750 FedEx Cup points.

Schauffele has been accompanied on course by his caddie, Austin Kaiser, throughout his entire PGA Tour career. It has been a long standing tradition in professional golf for caddies to receive a ten percent cut from the winning player's total cheque. Meaning, Austin Kaiser probably received around $310,000 from last week at the Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland.

As Xander Schauffele ranks second on the PGA Tour's Official Money List with $15,867,160 earned this season, his caddie must have received a little over $1.2 million from 18 events. Here's a look into how much Kaiser is estimated to have made from each event this season assuming that top ten finishes result in a seven percent cut and five percent for making the cut.

  • The Sentry - $37,100 (7 percent)
  • The American Express - $44,492 (7 percent)
  • Farmers Insurance Open - $16,537.50 (7 percent)
  • AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am - $2,125 (5 percent)

Austin Kaiser has been looping for the two-time major winner since his debut on the PGA Tour in 2017. With Schauffele's total career earnings adding up to $54,777,483, Kaiser is sure to have been well compensated, making him one of the best earning caddies on the field.
