2025's The Sentry was the first of eight Signature Events for the 2025 PGA Tour season. This type of tournaments will have several new features compared to the previous season, including field size and sponsor exemptions.

These are the eight Signature Events for the 2025 season:

  • The Sentry
  • AT&T Pebbler Beach Pro-Am
  • Genesis Invitational
  • Arnold Palmer Invitational
  • RBC Heritage
  • Truist Championship
  • Memorial Tournament
  • Travelers Championship

The main new feature of the 2025 Signature Events will be that all events (except The Sentry) will have a minimum field of 72 players. If necessary, an alternate list will be created to fill remaining capacities.

Another new feature is that only four sponsor exemptions will be granted at each event. However, a special sponsor exemption will be created for players with more than 80 PGA Tour victories. This will allow Tiger Woods to play in any or all of these events.

The three player-hosted Signature Events, the Genesis Invitational (Tiger Woods), the Arnold Palmer Invitational (late Arnold Palmer) and the Memorial Tournament (Jack Nicklaus), will have cuts after 36 holes. The cut will be made by the top 50 and all other players within 10 strokes of the leader. The other five events will not have cuts.

All Signature Events will feature a $20 million purse, with $4 million going to the winner of a player-hosted event and $3.6 million going to the winner of the other events. Each event will award 700 FedEx Cup points to the winner.

This is the schedule for the 2025 Signature Events:

  • The Sentry, Jan. 2-5 (Completed)
  • AT&T Pebbler Beach Pro-Am, Jan. 30 - Feb. 2
  • Genesis Invitational, Feb. 13-16
  • Arnold Palmer Invitational, March 6-9
  • RBC Heritage, April 17-20
  • Truist Championship, May 8-11
  • Memorial Tournament, May 29 - June 1
  • Travelers Championship, June 19-22

The qualifying system for these events will be similar to that of 2024. All members of the previous season's FedEx Cup Top 50 will qualify for the eight tournaments.

Players ranked 51st through 60th in the 2024 FedEx Cup standings will qualify for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Genesis Invitational. Players who win tournaments during the season and are not otherwise exempt will qualify for all remaining events.

The Aon Next 10 and Aon Swing 5 qualifying methods will remain in place. Under the former, the top 10 players in the current FedEx Cup standings, who are not otherwise exempt, qualify for the next Signature Event (valid for the final five events).

Swing 5, on the other hand, determines the five players with the most FedEx Cup points between one Signature Event and the next to qualify for the next tournament.
