"I'm going to have to practice harder"- Scottie Scheffler compares Katie Ledecky's performance to 'shooting 57 20 times'

Play for the first round of the men's individual stroke play event at the 2024 Paris Olympics has resumed following a suspension of almost 45 minutes due to lightning, allowing Scottie Scheffler to finish his round. After being tied for second place until the penultimate hole, the golfer is now tied for sixth place.

With a score of four under par for the day, he sits four strokes behind solo leader, Hideki Matsuyama. Prior to making his first start as an Olympian, Scheffler, his wife, and his son went to go watch Katie Ledecky win a gold medal for the USA in the women's 1500m freestyle swimming.

The world number one golfer was full of praise of Ledecky after she became an eight-time Olympic gold medal winner. According to CBS golf reporter, Kyle Porter, here's what Scheffler had to say:

"To compare golf to her, I think is fairly challenging. I think she has like the 20 best times in the 1500. That would be like me shooting the lowest 20 scores on tour ... like shooting 57 20 times. I'm going to have to practice harder."

Scheffler compared Ledecky's incredible feat to holding the top twently lowest scores on the PGA Tour. With the lowest 18-hole score on the PGA Tour set at 58, the 2024 Augusta Masters winner is insipred by the swimmer's commendable achievements.
