How has Jon Rahm performed at the 2024 Andalucia Masters?
Jon Rahm has had an incredible 2024 Andalucia Masters so far. He is placed T6 in the rankings with a score of -12 after 54 holes and is behind the leaders by seven strokes as Jorge Campillo and Julien Guerrier are leading the event with a score of -19.
Rahm had an average start to the round as he carded -2 for the day on day one with five birdies and three bogeys. It looked like he would struggle to make it to the weekend, but the Spanish golfer showcased his class in the second round as he carded -6 for the day.
This performance got the 29-year-old golfer back in contention as he remained -8 going into the weekend. He continued this momentum on the moving day, and remained bogey-free while carding four birdies to score -4 for the day. He is -12 for the event going into the final round.
Earlier, Rahm had revealed he is not competing at this event for glory, but he believes it is his duty toward Spanish golf to be there.
"I've said many times, I don't go to the Spanish Open for the glory or anything else. I think it's my duty to Spanish golf to be there, and I also want to play in Sotogrande [Andalucia Masters]. At that point, it would almost be doing not only me but Spanish golf a disservice by not letting me play," Rahm said.
