Michael Kim has officially qualified for the 2025 PGA Tour. He recently competed in the World Wide Technology Championship at El Cardonal, Cabo, Mexico, and finished T30 in the event.
Reflecting on his performance last week, Kim shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter). He said that securing the PGA Tour card for 2025 was a huge relief. However, he admitted he has been struggling a bit with the speed of his uphill putts and revealed a few other things as well. Here's what he said:
Thoughts from Cabo:
"I’ve definitely secured my card for next yr and it’s such a stress reliever. I’ve kept doing the same things from Vegas and I mostly saw the same things swing wise. Just had a couple bad nines but otherwise a solid week."
"I hate to admit this because I was so against this way back when, but I’ve been struggling with speed on uphill putts and so I made a system for putts of 20,30,40 ft and… it def felt better. Will continue to use for the foreseeable future."
"Some random things I saw this week, a player broke a putter and putted with a wedge/3wd. LOTS of provisionals from pro golfers. Restaurant decanted Fiji water lol."
"The same 2-3 restaurants get old quick haha"
"Getting mentally prepared for some at Bermuda"
"If the charter has WiFi (doubt it) I’ll do a Q&A to pass the time"
Kim had an average season with the putter, as he was ranked 92nd in the SG putting stats. Hence, he revealed he made a system for putts of 20, 30, and 40 feet and said he felt a bit better with these this week as well.
