The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris, France from July 26 to August 11. 60 players worldwide have qualified for the men's and women's golf events.

Despite three of the LPGA Tour and PGA Tour's best players of Dutch origin having qualified for the 2024 Olympics, their country has forbidden them from participating.

Dewi Weber is one of the stars who is barred by the government of the Netherlands. According to Golf Digest's Kent Paisley, the golfer was told that she is "not worthy" of representing the Netherlands and "not worth it going to the Olympics" by the Dutch Olympic Federation.

Joost Luiten and Darius van Driel are the other two golfers who are held back by the Dutch government.

The International Golf Federation slammed the country's decision and spoke out about the 'unfair' situation. Here's what they had to say.

"The International Golf Federation (IGF) is extremely disappointed for our three qualified athletes who will miss out on competing at Paris 2024 due to the decision by the Dutch Olympic Committee (...) Dewi Weber, Joost Luiten and Darius Van Driel all earned the right to compete in the Olympic golf competition at Paris 2024 based on their impressive play over the two-year qualifying period."

Since the three players have been denied entry into the Olympics by the Dutch Olympic Officials, other countries have put up their players into the field in their places. Joost Luiten and Darius van Driel are being replaced by Joel Girrbach and Tapio Pulkkanen from Switzerland and Finland respectively. Austria's Sarah Schober will replace Dewi Weber.
