The preparations for the men's golf individual stroke play competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics have begun as golf is all set to take center stage from Thursday, August 1, at the Le Golf National. The women's event will begin a week later, on August 7, on the same golf course.

The format of play is a 72-hole stroke play over four rounds, which is usually seen every week on the PGA Tour and the LPGA Tour. The difference will be that there will be no cut line for the golf event at the 2024 Paris Olympics. All golfers competing will play until the final day, instead of a cut line that we usually see in golf after 36 holes played.

Golf came back to the Olympics in 2016 and was played at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as well. The sport is here to stay at the Games, as it will also feature in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

There are 60 golfers in the field in both men's and women's events. The qualification was determined through world rankings, with Team USA being represented by 4 golfers in the men's and 3 golfers in the women's event.
