Six-time Major championship winner, Phil Mickelson made his debut in the LIV Golf league in 2022 and made the move official in 2023. However, the Hyflyers GC captain has missed the cut on all Major events played on the PGA Tour this season.

Haslinda Amin, an anchor on Bloomberg TV, recently spoke to Phil Mickelson. Amidst the ongoing battles and negotiations between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, Mickelson had a hot take on the matter.

" We have the ability to use our social media platforms however we want to help promote the game. And it's starting to change now or it is changing on the PGA Tour. So this is all a really positive sign for all of us. And so the competition that both tours are providing is elevating both tours. And so is it necessary that there's a merger? Probably not. Since the inception of the LIV Golf league in 2022, several great players on the PGA Tour have left to go and join the league. The divide in players has sparked hostility between players on both tours and has since caused a divide not only among competitors, but also fans.

Phil Mickelson stated that there is no need for a merger between the tours if there is no hostility in both environments. In the case of a merger, here's what the 45-time PGA Tour winner said he would do, having spoken out against the PGA Tour in the past.

" I need to let that stuff go. I need to let go of all the experiences that I've had in the past that were less than positive, and I need to let go of my hostilities, and we all do for the betterment of the game." (1:02 - 1:26)
