Rory McIlroy is one of the best golfers in the world. He is the most well-known golfer after Tiger Woods and has around 2.9 million followers on Instagram despite not being active on social media.

He recently shared a reel on his Instagram story where he played an incredible golf shot. Even though the green was not visible, McIlroy aimed the ball to perfection and landed the ball just short of the green with a long iron.

As soon as the Northern Irish golfer played the shot, the host was in awe, saying:

"I mean, jeez, he hit it hard, alright."

She then questioned him and asked what was his aim-point since the green was not visible. Rory McIlroy then shared his thoughts and the technicalities.

"So I took a walk up and looked, and there's a palm tree way in the distance, a really tall one that's where the pin is, and with the water on the right, just trying to go a little bit left of that, just to give myself an angle to the pin," McIlroy said.

Here's a look back at Rory McIlroy's performance in the 2024 season

Rory McIlroy had a decent season this year on the PGA Tour, with two wins and a runner-up finish in 19 events and missed just one cut. He had a chance to register more wins, including a Major championship at the US Open, but missed out by blowing his lead at the last moment.

“I feel like I’ve played better golf than the results suggest. I had a really good chance to win another major," McIlroy said (via Golf.com).
