The 2017 Mark H. McCormack Medal winner, Joaquin Niemann, had his first professional win at the age of 18 at Abierto Las Brisas de Santo Domingo as an amateur, and three years earlier, in 2013, he had his first amateur win. Technically, he had won 26 times during his amateur career, including his six professional titles as an amateur. But officially, he has 20 amateur and 12 professional wins as of June 2024.

Joaquin Niemann’s Driver

Niemann uses only Ping-made clubs; he has previously used the G410 and G425 LST drivers, and more recently, he is using the G430 LST driver, which comes with a Graphite Design Tour AD DI 6X shaft, in his bag.

The 'CarbonFly crown' on this driver may not seem like much, but it has a fundamental effect on the club's performance. Reduced spin and higher distance will result in a lower launch since the lighter material lowers the center of gravity. Due to its reduced weight, carbon takes weight out of the club's crown and enables it to be placed farther back for more forgiveness.

Joaquin Niemann’s Fairways

Niemann uses a G425 Max seven-wood with a 20-degree loft and a Ping G430 Max three-wood with a 14.5-degree loft. The G430 Max is a long but user-friendly fairway wood that will become a favorite among many golfers due to its strong launch features and versatility. This fairway has a new carbon crown that makes it look as good as it plays.

On the other hand, Ping's Kenton Oates convinced Niemann to use a seven-wood, though Neimann believed it would go too high. Graphite Design Tour AD DI shafts are used on each of his models, and he has also occasionally included a Ping G425 hybrid in the mix.

Joaquin Niemann’s Irons

Niemann makes use of iBlades with irons ranging from four to nine. The irons were released in 2016, and Golf Monthly believed that they were exceptional in every performance category that professional players look for: distance control, workability, soft feel, and forgiveness added for good measure. He's been using these irons for some time, and he hardly ever wanders off of them.

Joaquin Niemann’s Wedges

Niemann has four Ping wedges in the 46–60 degree range: the Ping Glide 3.0 version has a loft of 46 degrees, while the three Glide Forged Pros have 52, 56, and 60 degrees. There are enough loft and bounce possibilities in the range to construct a set that is adapted to the golfer's needs based on the terrain, and the control and versatility allow the player to be aggressive and confident around the green.

Joaquin Niemann’s Putter

Niemann prefers the recognizable Ping Prototype PLD Anser putter. Once more, Niemann hasn't changed his mind or tried any different putters in quite a bit of time, confirming that he favors the conventional blades more, as per Golf Monthly.

Joaquin Niemann’s Golf Ball

Niemann plays with a Titleist Pro V1x golf ball. It is a great all-around ball that has better ball flight in the long game without sacrificing feel or control in the short game. It was given five stars in Golf Monthly's review.

Joaquin Niemann’s Apparel and Shoes

Niemann sports Adidas clothing, and it seems he has moved to the ZG21 golf shoe after using the Tour360 shoe for a while. Being among the select few models that receive a five-star rating at Golf Monthly, the ZG21s have an excellent appearance, are remarkably light, and provide decent stability and comfort.
