Established in 1989, the Korn Ferry Tour is the PGA's developmental tour. It was formed by then-PGA Commissioner Deane Beaman, but its name has changed several times due to sponsorship reasons.
The Korn Ferry Tour is the primary method of obtaining a PGA Tour card because it acts as golfers' entry-level tour following PGA qualifying school. Annually, the top 30 golfers on the tour earn PGA Tour cards for the next season, and so on. It also allows professional golfers to reclaim their PGA cards if they were unable to meet the baseline FedEx Cup point minimum each season.
Full 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Schedule
The 2025 season of the Korn Ferry Tour began on January 12 with the Bahamas Golf Classic and will conclude on October 12 with the season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Championship. In the tour's 35th season, there will be 26 events spread across seven states and seven countries. Also, the PGA Riviera Maya Championship is a new event added to the schedule from 2025 to 2027.
The opening event, the Bahamas Golf Classic at Atlantis Paradise Island, will take place at a new venue at Ocean Club Golf Course on Paradise Island, and the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic will take place at The Abaco Club.
The Korn Ferry Tour Championship in October 2025 will be followed by the PGA Tour card ceremony for the declaration of the top 30 golfers who earned PGA Tour memberships. The top-ranking golfer will also earn exemptions to participate in the Players Championship and the U.S. Open Championship of the following season.
