American professional golfer John Maxwell Homa was born on November 19, 1990. He competes on the PGA Tour. He has six PGA Tour victories since he turned professional in 2013.

Homa was chosen to compete for Southern California on the Junior America's Cup team in 2008. In 2009, he won the Ventura County Junior Golf Association's Robinson Ranch.

Homa earned spots on the second-team PING Division I All-Pac-12, the third-team PING Division I All-West Region, and the third-team PING Division I All-American as a junior in 2011–12.

Homa was first-team All-Pac-12, ranked No. 17 on the final Palmer Cup Ranking, and won the Pac-12 Championship in 2012–13 with a first-round nine-under par 61, breaking the course record at the North Course at Los Angeles Country Club.

He was ranked No. 19 nationally by Golfweek and No. 22 by Golfstat. The Golf Coaches Association of America selected him for both the All-Nicklaus Team and the First Team All-American.
