Lauren Coughlin, Allisen Corpuz become latest golfers to get selected for the 2024 Solheim Cup US Team

The 2024 Solheim Cup is set to take place at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia, from September 13 to 15. Team USA Captain Stacy Lewis has announced two LPGA Tour stars to join her team for the upcoming competition, with less than 25 days to go.

Lewis has welcomed Allisen Corpuz and Lauren Coughlin into the team. Corpuz made her Solheim Cup debut in 2023, where she teamed up with Nelly Korda to win both of their foursome matches. The Hawaiian boasts a Solheim Cup record of 2-1-1.

Here's what the captain had to say about the Rolex First Tome Winner (via the LPGA Tour):

"I’m very excited to have Allisen back for her second Solheim Cup. She was a key part of our success last year, especially in her foursomes pairing with Nelly in 2023. Allisen is a solid player across the board, and obviously, a major champion as well, so the team’s thrilled to have her back."

Lauren Coughlin, on the other hand, is the LPGA Tour's latest sensation and will make her Solheim Cup debut. Despite a mediocre start to the season, she clinched victory at last week's ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open with a total four-day score of 15 under par. Riding a wave of momentum with two wins in her last four starts, including two top-ten finishes, Coughlin will compete in this week's AIG Women's Open before joining Team USA.

"There’s probably no hotter player on the LPGA Tour right now than Lauren Coughlin. To win two of the last three events and play the way she has been the entire year, it’s been awesome to see. 2024 Solheim Cup Team USA Rankings

The final squads for the Solheim Cup will be finalized on August 25. Team Europe will announce their team on August 26, followed by Team USA's announcement on August 27.
