Luke Donald and family dress up in humorous Halloween fits in an ode to the 2025 Ryder Cup

Luke Donald is thrilled to serve as captain for team Europe at the 2025 Ryder Cup once again following an incredible victory at the 2023 edition. The prestigious biennial tournament will be played at the iconic Bethpage Black course in Farmingdale, New York from September 23 to 28.

The Donald family has been known to go all out with their costumes every year for Halloween. This year, Donald, his wife Diane, their three kids, and dog dressed up in a New York theme. The four-time Ryder Cup winner wore a full King Kong gorilla suit along with a massive print of the Empire State Building.

Diane dressed up as the Statue of Liberty and painted herself green. Their daughters portrayed a New York City tourist and a taxi cab with the youngest one dressed as an apple to pay tribute to the city's nickname "Big Apple". Their dog was also in costume as a hot dog.

Diane shared with her 14.5 thousand followers on her Instagram story that the theme was her idea. She posted a video of the family in costume writing:

"They must really love me to go along with all my crazy ideas."

Luke Donald will create history as Europe's second-ever repeat Ryder Cup captain. Having captured the win for the team at the 2023 edition on home grounds in Rome, he is eager to defend their title on American soil. Not only does he cherish the trophy, but he said he also values his relationships with the 12-player roster in an interview for Ryder Cup.

"I’ve been fortunate as a player to have had many amazing times in the Ryder Cup over the years and so to add being a winning Captain to that, to form bonds with the 12 players like we did in Italy and to get the result we did, was very special indeed," Luke Donald said.

"The Ryder Cup means so much to me, so to be Captain again and have the chance to create more history by becoming only the second European Captain to win back-to-back is exciting.”

As the 2023 Ryder Cup was played at the iconic Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome, Luke Donald and his family did not hesitate to seize the opportunity to dress up for Halloween 2022 and embrace the Rome theme.

Donald dressed up as a Greek God while sporting a toga for Halloween 2022 in an ode to the 2023 Ryder Cup. His wife Diane wore a costume portraying the Colosseum. Their daughters dressed as spaghetti and meatballs, a gelato vendor, and a Greek warrior.

The family's dog completed its Ryder Cup-inspired Rome look in a Pope costume.
