The 2011 WGC champion, Martin Kaymer, has played four Ryder Cups from Europe, winning three in 2010, 2012 and 2014. Notably, a putt that Kaymer made on the 18th hole at Medinah Country Club on the last day of the 2012 Ryder Cup helped Europe win the cup and overcome a four-point deficit against the United States.

Kaymer also won the 2010 PGA Championship and the 2014 US Open, defeating Bubba Watson and Erik Compton & Rickie Fowler, respectively. Simultaneously, he also won the 2014 Players Championship, defeating FedEx Cup champion Jim Furyk.

The German golfer joined the European Tour in 2007 after playing on a few third-tier tours. On the European Tour, he won the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship three times. Kaymer hasn't won a title since his 2014 PGA Grand Slam of Golf win. He competed in the 2024 PGA Championship, finishing tied for 73rd.

Martin Kaymer’s Driver

On the top of his bag, Kaymer's driver is a TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus with a nine-degree loft and an Accra TZ6 Proto 65 M5 shaft. According to Golf Monthly, Stealth 2 Plus is a great all-around driver; it's perfect for anyone looking for a small but not scary look at the address and the opportunity to adjust weights to achieve a desired shot form. Also, the driver offers more forgiveness too.

Martin Kaymer’s Fairways

Kaymer uses a TaylorMade M6 three-wood with a 14-degree loft adjustment and an Accra TZ6 Proto 75 M5 shaft. With the right loft and shaft combination, the M6 fairway driver could be suitable for a wide range of player types.

Particularly when a little bit off-center, ball speeds were swift and rewarded with extended carries that frequently surpassed what the M4, the previous version, could provide.

The appearance and sound have both improved, and the head feels quite stable. However, the hosel is the only adjustable feature, which makes the price expensive and compared to the M4, gains appeared to be fairly modest.

Martin Kaymer’s Hybrid

The correct choice of hybrid is usually the most crucial, after putter, and for that, Kaymer uses a TaylorMade SLDR Rescue, a pretty old driver set at 17 degrees and a Graphite Design Tour AD DI Hybrid 85 X shaft.

To get the most out of the design, an extra loft was added after the CG was moved forward to keep it spinning down for additional distance. For those who have used TaylorMade Rescue clubs previously, the head shape and size will be familiar, and it is incredibly adaptable, as per Golf Monthly.

However, some players may find it challenging to accept the necessary degree of loft in order to make full use of the design. The address seemed like it was intended for a long-iron replacement club, but instead, it was a small-headed fairway wood. However, the head design was attractive and like a long iron well struck, the flight was strong and penetrating.

Martin Kaymer’s Irons

Kaymer uses a TaylorMade P7TW 3-9 iron with a True Temper Dynamic Gold AMT Tour White Tour Issue X100 shaft. The P7TW is a high-end player iron set that TaylorMade has released. It was created in partnership with Tiger Woods. In order to provide Woods with the best possible flight control and feel, the P7TW irons combine the company's milled grind sole and tungsten weighting in a forged, muscle-back blade-style iron.

P7TW irons were not made as a set; rather, each head was specially designed to satisfy the highest standards of performance. The R&D and product development teams at TaylorMade worked closely with Tiger to perfect every sole, every shape, and every groove after studying decades' worth of club specs.

It's not commonly known that Tiger enhances the feel and performance of his irons by precisely placing tungsten weighting behind the sweet spot. Tungsten is commonly used in golf to attain a particular CG position. Each P7TW iron's head is precisely crafted to contain tungsten, which gives Tiger the ideal combination of feel, flight, and control to let him play to the best of his ability.

Martin Kaymer’s Wedges

Kaymer uses three wedges: the first is the MG3 of 46-09 SB with a True Temper Dynamic Gold AMT Tour White Tour Issue X100 shaft and the other two are the MG Hi-Toe of 54-10 and 60-08, both with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Onyx S400 shafts.

The MG3 is a very high-spinning wedge with plenty of adjustability and a smooth, solid feel that gives players the control they want. It reliably delivers a mid-flight across the loft range. Lob wedges, however, have a bulbous appearance, and not everyone is fond of the rusty face that develops over time.

In contrast, the MG Hi-Toe is a masterfully balanced wedge with a high center of gravity for effortless control over trajectory and distance. In particular, the hi-toe design provides forgiveness on short strokes, while the elevated micro-ribs between the grooves generate amazing spin levels. The only negative is that there aren't many bounce options in the lower lofts.

Martin Kaymer’s Putter

Kaymer uses Ping's PLD Prototype putter; Ping offers the three styles of putting strokes (straight, slight arc, and strong arc) in all four models in the PLD Milled range. Built for players with slight arc strokes, the Anser and Anser 2 have plumber necks and a 4:30 toe hang. The face-balanced DS72 is for putters that are straight through and back.

Moreover, this model weighs 365 grams as opposed to the Ansers' 350 grams. Lastly, the Fang-style Tyne 4 putter with a flow neck for extra toe hang is a good choice for golfers with a strong arc.
