Pavon's debut season on the European Tour was relatively successful, with him finishing 49th in the Order of Merit. His best finish was second in the 2018 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open at Anahita, with a final round 67. He finished third at the 2017 Scottish Open. The tournament was part of the Open Qualifying Series, and his good result earned him an admission into the 2017 Open Championship the following week. He had rounds of 74 and 78 but missed the cut.

Pavon performed less well on the 2018 European Tour, ranking 89th in the Order of Merit. He was tied for fifth in the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open at the end of 2017, although his only other top-10 result came in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. He qualified for his first US Open. He started with a 71 and made the cut, despite a second round 77, ending in a tie for 25th.

In October 2023, Pavon won his first European Tour tournament, the Acciona Open de España. He finished with a total of 261 (23 under par) and won by four strokes. He concluded the 2023 European Tour season in 15th position on the Race to Dubai, gaining PGA Tour membership for the 2024 season.

In January 2024, he won the Farmers Insurance Open by a stroke against Nicolai Højgaard. With this victory, he became the first Frenchman to win on the PGA Tour since Arnaud Massy at the 1907 Open Championship (later recognized as a PGA Tour triumph). In February, he placed third in the in&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California. He received $1.36 million in prize money and ended at -15, 2 strokes behind the winner, Wyndham Clark
