Her parents are Vietnam War refugees from Laos. They moved to the United States for safety and to improve their quality of life.

Khang began learning golf from her father at an early age. He sparked her passion for golf and launched her amateur career. Khang turned professional in 2015 and placed T6th in the LPGA final qualifying competition, earning her LPGA Tour membership for 2016.

On August 27, 2023, she won her first LPGA tour event, the CPKC Women's Open, with an immaculate score of 279 in a playoff against Ko Jin Young. She wins a good quantity of shares from the event, totaling $375,000.

She has also competed on the LPGA Major Tour but has yet to win a tournament. She finished third in the women's PGA Championship 2023 but failed to make the cut in the US Women's Open. In both the Chevron Championship and the Evian Championship 2023, she finished ninth. In the Women's British Open this year, she tied for 30th place.
