G.O.A.T. Michael Phelps is still collecting wins, even more than six years after his departure from swimming. He recently secured a win at the Waste Management Phoenix Open for a charity game.
Phelps won the Shot at Glory contest this past weekend at the WM Phoenix Open Pro-Am event, also known as "The People's Open."
Michael Phelps holed his drive only 8'5′′ from the pin while playing on TPC Scottsdale's famed par-3 16th hole, which was buffeted by wind and sound from a large grandstand.
That helped him raise $40,000 for his preferred charity. YouTuber Peter Finch came in second place, receiving $25,000 for his charity, while Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen came in third place and received $15,000.

The public has shown strong interest in this year's WM Phoenix Open due to the fact that Phoenix is also hosting the Super Bowl this weekend, one of the largest sporting events in the world, along with its fan-friendly galleries and 70-degree February weather.
Local Phoenix superstars like Phelps and Larry Fitzgerald, as well as NFL greats like Emmit Smith, Jerome Bettis, JJ Watt, and Reggie Bush, have all supported the Pro-Am. Albert Pujols, a future member of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, Carli Lloyd, a great soccer player and a host of other well-known figures from the sports and entertainment worlds also made appearances.
On the front 9 and back 9, Phelps' foursome played with PGA professional Gary Woodland. The winning team included PGA Tour players Brian Harman, Taylor Pendrith, and Swire Coca-Cola CEO Rob Gehring. The entire final standings weren't ever made public.
Michael Phelps has continued to compete in a variety of sports since giving up swimming and making several Pro-Am appearances. In this specific competition, he has established himself as a regular.
While he has long been an enthusiastic golfer and has the previous record for the longest broadcast putt from a Pro-Am competition in Scotland, he also gave pickleball a shot last year in Phoenix.
A sizable $20 million prize fund, including $3.6 million for the winner, has been offered at the Waste Management Phoenix Open this year. With a two-stroke advantage after three days of competition, Scottie Scheffler emerged as the winner.
Michael Phelps' incredible Swimming career
In his five Olympic appearances, Michael Phelps, also known as the 'Baltimore Bullet', set the record by winning a whopping 28 medals. In the 400-meter individual medley, he captured his first-ever Olympic gold medal.
At the 2004 Athens Games, Phelps came away with six golds and two bronze medals. He won eight gold medals at the 2008 Olympic Games. In this pursuit, the renowned athlete secured the most gold medals by any Olympian at the Beijing 2008 Games.
Phelps announced his retirement after the 2012 Olympics, taking home four golds and two silver medals.
He made a comeback to competitive swimming in May 2014 and won the 100-meter butterfly event.
At the 2016 Summer Olympics, Phelps won five golds and one silver medal. He earned his lone silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the 100-meter butterfly event. Phelps, along with his team, clinched a gold in the men's 4×100-meter medley relay, which was his last Olympic medal.
