$117.37B sporting fashion brand celebrates Nelly Korda & Scottie Scheffler with big gesture

Nike recently made a big gesture to recognize Nelly Korda and Scottie Scheffler for their performances in the 2024 season. Scheffler was awarded the Jack Nicklaus Award for being adjudged PGA Tour's Player of the Year on Tuesday, December 10.

Meanwhile, Korda won the 2024 Rolex Player of the Year award last month. Nike, who have a market capitalisation of $117.37 billion (as per Forbes), celebrated their achievements via an Instagram post. In the first image, Korda can be seen wearing a blue Nike outfit and a white visor. The text under her picture read:

"THE CALM"

In the second image, Scheffler could be seen during a mid-swing with the text:

"IS THE STORM."

Both the players' names were also written below the text on their respective pictures with "Player of the Year 2024" alongside Nike logo. The sporting fashion giant captioned the post:

"Greatest on the Green. @nellykorda & @scottie.scheffler, 2024 Players of the Year"

The LPGA star signed a deal with Nike Golf last year in January whereas Scheffler has also been in partnership with the brand.

Scottie Scheffler was PGA TOUR Player of the Year for the third consecutive year whereas Nelly Korda was given the honour for the first time. Scheffler has had seven victories on the PGA Tour this year whereas Korda topped the leaderboard seven times.

The PGA Tour player won the 2024 Masters tournament and his second Major this year. Korda also won her second Major at the 2024 Chevron Championship after winning the 2021 Women's PGA Championship. Both dominated their respective tours.

A look at Nelly Korda and Scottie Scheffler's performance in 2024

Nelly Korda competed in 16 tournaments this year on the LPGA Tour and made 13 cuts. She had an astonishing seven wins and 11 top-10 finishes. On receiving the Player of the Year award she said (via LPGA):

"Winning the Rolex Player of the Year means so much to me. This season has had its highs and challenges, and I'm just really grateful for the people around me who have helped me get here. It’s been a team effort, and I’m proud to share this moment with them."
