The ongoing AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at the Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course and Monterey Peninsula’s Shore Course has been eventful to say the least.
The challenging tournament week saw multiple stops due to terrible weather. Following this, the event was extended to a Monday finish.
Interestingly, Philip Knowles became the first to withdraw from the event. The golfer pulled out after the first round and was replaced in the field by Jonas Blixt. However, he was only the first of many.
Following Knowles's withdrawal, 14 more golfers withdrew from the event. While Justin Suh WD’d exited due to a shoulder injury, Cameron Percy pulled out ahead of Friday’s second round.
As the tournament proceeded, the third-round tee times were moved up an hour due to high winds. Play was later suspended due to the same. As the event headed towards a Monday finish, Maverick McNealy came forward to pull out citing injuries.
The PGA Tour on Sunday morning then announced that nine golfers, including Will Gordon and Carson Young, were bowing out of the Pebble Beach event.
The golfers, who are on the list for Monday's qualifier for the WM Phoenix Open at McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale, seemed more than happy to make the choice.

Official reacts to large withdrawal at Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Bill Ibrahim, the COO of the Southwest Section PGA, addressed the large withdrawal from the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am as being “unfortunate.”
He said:
“It’s unfortunate that some participants are going to miss out of the WM Phoenix Open Monday Qualifier due to the weather issues they have been experiencing at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
“With a Monday finish now slated for that event, a large number of the 31 participants registered in both are inside the cut line and thus will not be able to be here.
“With the WM Phoenix Open the first designated event of the year, I assume it hurts a little more missing out on trying to qualify with the uncertainty of these designated events in the future.”
The PGA Tour will head to TPC Scottsdale in Arizona for the 2023 Waste Management Phoenix Open soon after the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The four-day WM Open kickstarting on February 9 will feature a whopping $20 million prize money purse.
