Asterisk Talley is unstoppable as the 15-year-old golfer continues her marvels at the match-play run in the USGA events. The golfer is currently playing at the 2024 US Women's Amateur and in the Round of 16 match, she defeated Angela Heo to go to the quarterfinals. With this, Talley reached 13-1 record in the match play of the USGA events.

This was tweeted by the USGA page on Twitter and with that, they wrote:

“Asterisk Talley has played 14 matches across three USGA championships so far this year. She's now 13-1 in those matches!”

Before this, Talley and Sarah Lim came out victorious in the US Women's Open fourball and the former contributed by triumphing in five matches. Next, in the US Girls' Junior, she stood at 5-1 in the match play. Currently, she's playing at the US Women's Amateur and will play in the quarterfinals today.

As far as her entire performance at the US Women's Amateur is concerned, she played four segments of the tournament as of now. The first segment was stroke play, where she stood at 1-under at T4. In the first round, she carded three birdies and one bogey to land at 69. In the second round, she dropped five birdies and had a score of 72.

Then, in the round of 64, she won over Amanda Sambach with 2-1. In the round of 32, she defeated Justice Bosio with 4-2. In the round of 16, she won over Angela Heo with 7-6. In this round, Talley won a total of seven holes out of 12 holes.

Asterisk Talley details her experience at the match play

Asterisk Talley began to talk about how match play is about competing against one person and not going against all the golfers on the field. She also talked about the playing conditions at the US Women's Amateur.

“I feel like the best part of match play is you’re just playing the one person, and you don’t have to worry about everybody else…this morning with the conditions that there were, there was a bunch of wind, and in stroke play you can have someone going off at like 7 a.m. and there’s no wind, no conditions at all, and I feel like it’s great that you can have someone that has the wind, has the conditions that you have when you’re playing them,” Asterisk Talley said (via GolfWeek).
She continued, “I feel like just hitting it within like 20 feet and just trying to get on the green and then just, if a one-putt falls you’re doing well, or if you get within 15 feet, you’re doing really good…You’re not trying to get anywhere close to the hole, you’re just trying to get somewhere on the green, and then if you make a putt.”

In the quarterfinals, Talley will go against Adela Cernousek.
