“$200 for a hoodie”: Fans shocked as Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL releases clothing line

The tech-infused league, TGL, launched by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy has been the talk of the town since its birth. Now, as the league decided to launch a clothing line, the fans were left shocked and wrote mixed comments.

Recently, NUCLR Golf posted on X (formerly Twitter) that a clothing line by Greyson was launched for Tiger Woods' TGL teams. Out of the six teams, apparel for three debuted, including Boston Common Golf, Los Angeles Golf Club, and Atlanta Drive GC.

In the tweet, the poster shared four hoodie pictures. Out of which, a navy blue hoodie and a green sweatshirt with the Boston Common Golf logo were worth $197 and $97, respectively. Then, there was a button-down black shirt with the Atlanta Drive GC logo. Lastly, there was a black-collared polo with the Los Angeles Golf Club logo.

The post also carried the caption:

“TGL Team apparel is now available for purchase. Appears to be various different merch providers including Greyson, at a range of price points. Will you be making a purchase?” NUCLR Golf wrote.

The TGL was supposed to start in 2024, but the inauguration was delayed by a year because of the partial roof collapse of its venue, the SoFi Center. The collapse was a result of a power outage and now the league is supposed to kick off in 2025 with six teams.

The golfers who will play in TGL are Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay, Tom Kim, and more. Jon Rahm withdrew from the TGL last year and now the golfers play for the breakaway league.

Tiger Woods shows his excitement for the TGL

In April, Tiger Woods shared through an interview, as per Business Today, that he was excited about the launch of the TGL next year. He also explained how the roster included the best golfers to represent the Jupiter area.

“I have already shared my excitement and optimism for TGL as a league and product. Now that we have finalised our roster with a team of world-class golfers, I am even more confident that this group will proudly represent the Jupiter area and connect with our fans for years to come,” Tiger Woods said.

Not only Tiger Woods, but Max Homa was also excited about the new league after he signed up for it.

“It’s really exciting to call Tiger, Tom, and Kevin teammates. Thanks to TGL, I’ll be able to play with some of the best golfers,” Homa said.

Tiger Woods last appeared at the Open Championship and is supposed to participate in fall season events like the Hero World Challenge and the PNC Championship.
