2024 AIG Women's Open Championship: Odds and best bets explored

The 2024 AIG Women's Open is the last Major championship of the LPGA season. It will be held from August 22 to 25 at the Old Course at St. Andrews.

The tournament will be headlined by several stars, including the likes of Nelly Korda and Lydia Ko. The first four Majors of the year have been won by four different golfers, and all of them will be in the field looking for another Major win.

Ko is coming off a win at the 2024 Paris Olympics, which also got her into the LPGA Hall of Fame. She enters the AIG Women's Open with odds of +2800 (via OddsChecker). Esther Henseleit, the Olympic silver medalist, has odds of +4000, while Xiyu Lin, the bronze medalist, has odds of +3000.

Ayaka Furue, the winner of the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship, is the top favorite to win this weekend with odds of +1200. Korda trails Furue with odds of +1600 as she looks to win a historic seventh title this season, having picked up five consecutive wins, including a Major, early in the year.

The AIG Women's Open will be held at the St. Andrews golf course, a famously tough course to play on. Defending champion Lilia Vu spoke about the opportunity to play at St. Andrews ahead of the tournament (via LPGA):

"We're at St. Andrews, which is like the place that everyone wants to play. It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance. There's a little bit of pressure, but I think I know it's going to be a battle for everyone, not just me. So I'm going to try my hardest, do my best out here."

Vu is one of the top favorites to win with odds of +2500.

The AIG Women's Open will also boast one of the biggest prize purses of the season at $9 million, with the winner receiving $1,350,000.
