The 2024 Hero World Challenge is all set to begin on December 4th, 2024 at the Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas. While host Tiger Woods will not be a part of the field, the line-up is nothing short of exciting.
The 2024 Hero World Challenge will feature a 20-player loaded field with the likes of Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Tom Kim, Wyndham Clark among others teeing off on Thursday. Defending champion Scottie Scheffler will be returning to Albany and would want to retain his title.
The prize purse of the 2024 Hero World Challenge is a staggering $5,000,000. The winner will take home $1 million. Although it is not an official event, the cash prize is substantial.
Host Tiger Woods is still recovering from his recent back surgery to remove a herniated disc to treat the back spasms and pain he had been experiencing this season. This is his sixth back surgery so far. He announced that he will be pulling out of his self-hosted tournament in November. Although he may not be competing, he will still be present at the competition to fulfil his hosting duties. He said (via Golf.com):
"I look forward to tackling the rehab and preparing myself to return to normal life activities, including golf."
